ST2 is a limited company formed 19 months ago by IT consultant and Streamwire boss Anne Stokes, who is also on the board of governors at data centre industry association, Data Centre Alliance.

If successful, the plan is to build a £100m data centre on the site.

Stokes said the data centre would be environmentally sustainable and create up to 400 jobs in the area.
